Since 2006 Michael Gowin has been creating memorable and marketable images for clients from southern Illinois to St. Louis, Missouri, to the Chicago area as well as throughout the cities and towns in central Illinois, including Springfield, Bloomington/Normal, Jacksonville, Peoria, and Champaign/Urbana. He's also a professor of business administration at Lincoln Christian University, where he's taught since 1997. So he knows a thing or two about that as well.

He has participated in numerous learning and training opportunities, including workshops with industry notables such as Chicago-based celebrity wedding photojournalist Bob Davis, Los Angeles-based commercial photographer Mark Robert Halper, and Atlanta-based editorial photographer Zack Arias.

Michael's "hybrid" approach (still photography + video + audio) to senior photography was featured in a December 2013 Chicago Tribune story. And his business portrait approach and marketing were profiled in the July 2015 issue of Professional Photographer magazine.
On a personal note
Michael and his wife, Suzanne, are nestled snugly with their family in a late-nineteenth-century home in Lincoln, Illinois. A mutual friend introduced the pair while they were in graduate school, claiming they should meet because they "both liked math" (Michael had studied engineering as an undergrad; Suzanne had a math degree). They have nine children: three children "in the traditional manner" and, as of July 2014, six children adopted from Ethiopia.
Michael has formally studied engineering, English, theology, and business (he holds a bachelor's degree and two master's degrees), making him mostly unemployable but at least moderately conversant on a variety of topics.
Michael has been proud to serve the Lincoln/Logan County area by serving as a board member for the local Chamber of Commerce.
